“Oyez, Oyez, Oyez!”

“We welcome the new unveiling of the City Ambassador Programme to Southampton!”

Today is a fantastic day for Kiwi and the people of Southampton. The City Ambassador Programme is a brand-new Apprenticeship showcasing Southampton’s Culture, Heritage & Diversity. Burlington House this week has hosted the launch of the Ambassador Programme. Members of the press, radio and even the Southampton Town Crier gathered on the steps of Kiwi Education for the programme.

With hopes of capturing the same energy and passion shared throughout the City of Culture bid, we believe that the people working in Southampton’s visitor economy can play a crucial part in the city reaching its full potential.

We are teaming up with Southampton City Council, Go Southampton & Visit Southampton to launch a brand-new City Ambassador course. Combining a Customer Service Apprenticeship with the knowledge & experience of Southampton’s top visitor attractions.

Our latest course now focuses on Customer Service based roles. We have high hopes of using the course to build a sense of community among employers and employees in the city.

The City Ambassador Programme has been built to upskill and develop customer-facing team members, equipping them with the knowledge and skills to deliver an exceptional Southampton customer welcome.

Training begins with a formal introduction and welcome session from City Ambassador Partners (Satvir Kaur and Sarah Bogle). Throughout the learning schedule, the Apprentice Ambassadors will embark on various guided tours and activities to discover more about the Heritage, Culture & Diversity of the City.

Quote of City Council Member Satvir Kaur, comments:

“This is a fantastic programme, offering new and exciting opportunities for not only those taking part but also for the city. It will be great to have city ambassadors promoting everything our diverse, dynamic, creative city has to offer. I wish them every success.”
