Natasha’s Journey on a Level 3 Business Administration Apprenticeship at Adams Morey

At Kiwi Education, we love seeing our learners grow in confidence and witnessing them develop the skills they need to succeed in their careers. Natasha’s journey is a perfect example of how apprenticeships can empower individuals, helping them take on new responsibilities and progress in their roles.

Building Confidence and Expanding Workplace Skills

When Natasha started her apprenticeship, she doubted whether she could take on the challenge. It had been nearly a decade since she last engaged in formal training, having previously earned a qualification in childcare. Adjusting to a new learning format was initially daunting, but with the right support and encouragement, she soon found her stride.

“I was doubting how it was going to be if I was up to doing it. I’ve got quite ahead of the course so far. I think that proves to me that I can do it. ” Natasha shared.

“I think at the beginning I was doubting my ability – if I was even up for returning to education. But looking at my progress now I’ve actually managed to get ahead of where I am expected to be. To me that proves that I can do it & I will get there!”

Through her apprenticeship, Natasha began to explore team dynamics and how she could contribute more effectively within her role. She started recognising how she and her colleagues collaborated, and this awareness helped her take on additional responsibilities. “I’ve done quite a lot of role-playing to help me understand how my team works around me, and I think that sort of made me think a little bit more of how we work together, and how we bounce off each other? ” she explained.

Succeeding Through Work-Based Learning

Like many learners returning to education after a break, Natasha initially questioned her ability to keep up. She wondered if she was capable of completing the coursework and applying her learning in a practical setting. However, with the encouragement of her tutor,Jen, and the support of her manager, Sharon, Natasha realised she was more than capable. “Having Jen always available at the end of the phone or email made such a difference,” she said.

Thriving in a work-based learning environment

One of the key factors that contributed to Natasha’s success was the structure of the apprenticeship itself. Unlike traditional qualifications, this programme was fully integrated into her workplace, allowing her to apply what she learned in real-time.”I love that it’s work-based,” Natasha explained. “I don’t have to take extra work home and stress about it—it’s all included in my job.”

Looking forward to the future

Natasha’s journey through her apprenticeship has ignited a passion for continuous learning. She has already completed a significant portion of her coursework ahead of schedule, demonstrating her enthusiasm and commitment. Natasha shared “I am really enjoying it and I’d love to do as many courses as I can physically do. “

Natasha’s story is a testament to the power of apprenticeships in building confidence, expanding knowledge, and opening doors to new possibilities. Her advice is simple for anyone considering an apprenticeship: “… it’s going to encourage you to just progress on & on, just go for it.”
