As a parent or guardian, you play a crucial role in supporting your child to explore the world of opportunities available to them for life after school. Here at Kiwi, we understand it can be difficult to know where to start or keep up with the latest opportunities available. This is where we come in.
Who is Kiwi Education?
Kiwi Education is a training provider which delivers a wide range of qualifications within a workplace environment. Unlike school or college, our learning takes place in the workplace or at our learning centre which offers an alternative environment for learning. We pride ourselves on our hands-on, practical approach to vocational learning. We specialise in Traineeships, Short Courses & Apprenticeships! Which range from beginner, intermediate to degree equivalent levels.
What is a Traineeship?
You may not have heard of a Traineeship before. Our Traineeship Programme offers a hands-on alternative to the continual demands of essays, exams and studying, that college and university entail. So what can your child expect instead? Read on to find out…
A Traineeship is a fantastic work-based learning programme that helps 16-24-year-olds become work-ready, whilst gaining a Level 2 qualification. With your child having spent most of their time in school or college, our Traineeships give them a helping hand in progressing from education to the workplace!
We know it can be difficult for your child to decide what they want to do after school, and it’s okay if they aren’t sure which career path they want to go down. Our programme enables them to try tasters in different industries. With the support of our Tutors and work coaches, your child will be guided in the right direction, before settling on the choice that’s right for them.
How is the Traineeship Programme Structured?
Your child will attend our Training Centre and will have a dedicated work coach to help them progress through their qualification, as well as work on their employability and essential literacy and numeracy skills.
They will also be provided with an exciting work placement, which they will attend when not in the Skills Centre (how many days per week your child will be on placement varies by your job role and employer).
Your child will also have access to an Essential Skills, Tutor, to develop key literacy, numeracy and digital literacy skills, and experience a wide variety of inspirational guest speakers who regularly visit us for workshops and training sessions.
Care, Support and Guidance
Learners can access a range of bespoke learning support, delivered by our educational specialists who use a personalised learning approach. Enabling the learner to reach their full potential.
Additional support will be arranged on a case-by-case basis. With a personal support plan agreed upon, reasonable adjustments can be made for exams & assessments. For example; reading assistance and/or scribe support. Support intervention will depend on the learner’s need and the examining board’s regulations.
Does a Traineeship sound like the right path for your child?
