5 years at Kiwi with Andrew

Andrew Steel,

IT, Website & Marketing Manager

11th January 2021

When I started at Kiwi, I began working with the Costa coffee franchise delivering frameworks to the various stores. I met so many great people and really saw the benefits of training people within their workplace. People I could relate to, having worked in hospitality and retail myself for many years before.

My colleagues were so supportive and everyone at Kiwi welcomed me to the world of apprenticeships. I continued as a trainer for a few years and felt my confidence grow greatly as I became not only familiar with the courses but with the businesses I was working with. From managers to sales assistants, I was building working relationships with so many people.

Alongside training others, I have continued my own development by completing courses within the business in which I achieved a Distinction in my Team Leader/Supervisor.

My accomplishments over the last 5 years range from seeing my learners start their course to handing them their certificates on completion. Seeing that happiness on their face and the desire to continue training with me personally was always a great feeling for me as I felt I had made a difference. My confidence is another area that I feel has developed a lot. The job as a trainer gave me the experience to grow and put myself in situations that were beneficial to me and to my learners.

Now I work as the IT, Website, and marketing manager at Kiwi and even though this is a new role, I am enjoying learning something new and improving my skill set. I have enrolled onto the new Digital Marketing assistant apprenticeship and cannot wait to get stuck in.

Thank you to the colleagues I have worked with over the years and everyone at Kiwi now.

I look forward to the time ahead with Kiwi
