Connor Gregory: from Kiwi Trainee to Southampton City Ambassador Apprentice

One of our Traineeship learners Connor has recently progressed from his Work Placement into full-time employment with Costa Coffee. We are also pleased to announce Connor has also enrolled in the City Ambassador Programme!

Joining the first cadre of Ambassadors, Connor will be learning more about the city’s heritage, culture and diversity whilst completing his Customer Service Apprenticeship!

“Before I became a Kiwi Trainee, I was stuck in a bit of a sticky situation. Low on confidence and not too sure which direction I wanted to go in. I decided to join Kiwi’s Traineeship programme. My work coach Harriet helped me build up my confidence and discover my ambition. With her support, I was able to complete a work experience placement in my local Costa Coffee store. Which I enjoyed, as I’ve been able to meet so many different people & learn new skills.

After completing my placement I was offered a full-time role in the store, which I was quick to accept. I am now very excited to start the next step in my journey on the City Ambassador Programme! I look forward to learning more about the city I live in, & it would bring me such pride to wear that ambassador pin on my collar!

I would like to give a special mention to Kiwi’s Business Development Exec Sam. He did a great job guiding me through the process between Traineeship to Apprenticeship. I would recommend the Traineeship Programme to anyone looking to get into work. I feel more comfortable in a working environment & I am now more confident in my abilities when presenting myself and applying for jobs in the future.
