One of our Traineeship learners Libbi has recently progressed from her Work Placement into employment. Congratulations Libbi!

I enjoyed my time on the Traineeship programme. It was a good way to build up my confidence, & learn new skills. Having a dedicated work coach guide and support me through the application process was a real help! Mine even walked me to the interview to settle my nerves before I went in.

It wasn’t just all about gaining work experience, the set-up Kiwi have for Traineeships was a dream working environment to be in. For example, every Wednesday we would usually cover other topics relating to my personal development. I really enjoyed the Wednesday wellness sessions, and my time studying crime and law, safeguarding and prevention, and health and nutrition. These also gave me access to a variety of Short courses which allowed me to achieve some additional Level 2 Qualifications that helped to boost my CV!

Before I joined I was in college, when Kiwi found me and introduced me to the Traineeship program and the manager Kerry. I then left college and started at Kiwi. It was really easy to sign up and get started.

Without a Traineeship with Kiwi, I would have found it very difficult to get work experience in the Tattoo Industry, due to my age and previous experience. However, a Traineeship got me through the door by becoming a receptionist with Titanic Tattoo Southampton. Once I’m old enough, I know that I can progress on to an Apprenticeship in piercing or maybe even the full tattoo Apprenticeship. Since completing my placement, Titanic Tattoo has offered me employment, which I was quick to accept!

From working with Titanic on my placement, I got to know everyone there and enjoyed the friendly welcoming atmosphere around the place. I really appreciated the time and effort the Titanic team took, to ensure I gained valuable experience that benefitted the role I want to be working in as well as the responsibilities I learned as their receptionist.

If I were to meet someone in a similar position to me when I first started my Traineeship. I would encourage them to give a Traineeship with Kiwi a shot! Trust & listen to the work coaches because with their insight you can build your skills and reach new goals.

Kiwi has been so helpful at building up my confidence and I feel ready and excited to get stuck in my new job. ”
