So, you’re thinking about an accountancy apprenticeship?

An accounting apprenticeship can open up so many doors for you. Not only does it give you a solid understanding of finance and accounts, it enables you to learn the fundamentals of business from the ground up.

Being an accountancy apprentice will allow to you gain a highly sought-after qualification (debt-free) whilst getting paid! Accounting apprenticeships are open to anyone 16 or older and not in full-time education. There’s no upper age limit: mature apprenticeships are increasingly popular for career-changers. You may not know, but you don’t need to be a graduate to become a Chartered Accountant. Here at Kiwi, we offer Accounts Assistant (Level 2), Assistant Accounting AAT (Level 3) and Professional Accounting Taxation Technician AAT (Level 4) apprenticeships. Upon successful completion of the level 4 apprenticeship, you can go straight on to become a chartered accountant. This fast track allows non-graduates to achieve chartered status more quickly than by following the university path.

What does each qualification entail?

Our Level 2 qualification delivers a solid foundation in finance administration, covering areas such as double entry bookkeeping to basic costing principles and using accounting software. Most students will start with this qualification.

Level 3 is perfect for someone who has experience working in accounts and would like to complement their experience with formal qualifications. You will master more complex accounting disciplines including financial processes, advanced bookkeeping, final accounts and ethical practices for accountants.

In the Level 4 qualification you will cover higher accounting tasks including drafting financial statements, managing budgets and evaluating financial performance, as well as optional specialist units including business tax, personal tax, external auditing, credit management, and cash and treasury management.
